How the marbled swirl gets into the wood
Multicolour handles like this one are usually made from thin wood veneers, each dyed a different colour, stacked and bonded with resin under pressure. When the block is cut at an angle and shaped into a 5.8 cm handle, the layers surface as the red, green and brown swirls you see here, so no two handles carry exactly the same pattern.
The rest of the build is classic Sialkot pocket-knife work: a stainless blade, a brass bolster at the pivot, pins through the handle and a final polish. It shows how keychains made in Pakistan combine an old construction with a modern handle material.
