Folding or fixed blade: choosing a Damascus knife
Our Damascus blades are pattern-welded: layers of steel are forge-welded together, shaped, then etched so the layers show as a wave pattern. No two blades have exactly the same pattern.
- Damascus folding knives: pocket knives with horn, bone or wood handles, many with a Damascus bolster and a wooden presentation box.
- Damascus fixed blade knives: hunting, skinning, Bowie knives and daggers with a leather case.
- Damascus versions also exist in our pruning, grafting and mushroom knife lines.
For a retail display, one or two Damascus pieces at the top of a range make the stainless models beside them look more valuable.
