Questions & answers

Colour, lock and price questions

Does the lock mechanism feel secure?

Test it in three steps when the knife arrives. Open the blade until it stops: it should seat with a definite feel. Grip the handle and gently press the back of the blade; nothing should move or creep. Then close it, which should need a deliberate push. A compact everyday knife like this one is opened often, so repeat the check from time to time.

What is the Damascus knife price in Pakistan for the rainbow model?

Visitors from Pakistan see the price per knife in rupees (PKR) at the top of the page, and orders can be placed on WhatsApp. Shops stocking it in quantity get a lower per-unit price; ask us by message or email for the wholesale figure.

Is the colour painted on the handle?

No. The handle is built from layers of wood dyed red, green and blue, so the colour runs through the material and the stripes show wherever the wood has been shaped.

Complete the set

Small add-ons for a colourful everyday folder

A compact knife that gets used every day benefits from a pouch and an edge tool. Three easy companions for this rainbow-handled model, one of the smallest Pakistan Damascus knives in the range:

The story

Sialkot's cutlers and a burst of colour

Sialkot's reputation for metalwork goes back centuries, and in the late nineteenth century its craftsmen also began making surgical instruments, a trade for which the city is still known worldwide. Pocket knives grew from the same skills: grinding, fitting and polishing small metal parts by hand.

Colour came later. Dyed laminated woods, usually made by bonding thin veneers coloured right through, let handle makers offer stripes that no natural timber can match while keeping the warmth of wood. On this 9.5 cm handle, red, green and blue layers meet a polished brass bolster and a lanyard hole, an everyday-carry detail. Today Pakistan knife makers combine that bright material with a hand-forged Damascus blade, joining an old metallurgical tradition to a thoroughly modern look.

Quality check

Checking rainbow layers on a small folder

Laminated colour wood is stable, but the glue lines deserve a close look. Before stocking, open a few knives and check:

  • The red, green and blue layers are tightly bonded, with no gaps or lifting at the ends of the handle.
  • The colour bands look similar on both sides and meet the brass bolster cleanly.
  • The lanyard hole is smooth inside, so a cord will not fray.
  • The 7.5 cm blade opens fully, holds without play and closes centred.
  • The etched Damascus pattern is visible along the whole blade.

These checks take a minute and apply to any Pakistan pocket knife with a laminated handle.
