Building a sectioned horn and bone handle
A handle like this one is assembled rather than carved from a single piece. Sections of black horn and white bone are cut and fitted with thin red spacers between them, then glued, clamped and shaped as one, so the joins disappear under the fingers. Here the result is a black, white and black pattern 10.6 cm long.
The blade is 11 cm of hand-forged Damascus with an integrated gut hook. Combining materials this way is a classic handle-making technique, and it gives each Pakistan Damascus knife of this kind a striking, banded grip that no single material could match.
