Oiling teak and polishing an inox bolster
Teak is a dense, naturally oily hardwood, long used on boat decks, so it suits a knife that lives in pockets and coat linings. As with other wood-handled keychains made in Pakistan, the routine is quick:
- Wipe the 4.6 cm blade dry after cutting fruit or anything damp, then fold it away.
- Buff the stainless bolster with a soft cloth; it will not rust, but it does collect fingerprints.
- Twice a year, work a few drops of teak oil or mineral oil into the 6 cm handle and wipe off the excess.
- If grit gets into the pivot, rinse it briefly, dry it thoroughly and add a drop of light oil.
