Gift ideas

Natural horn for a classic small present

Horn has been used for knife handles for centuries, and it still gives a small knife a sense of occasion. No bolster interrupts the black horn here, so the whole handle shows off its gloss and subtle shading.

  • A father whose trouser pocket has never been without a folder.
  • A walker or birdwatcher, who at 23 g will forget it is there until it is needed.
  • A thank-you for a best man or usher at a wedding.
  • A housewarming present to go with a new set of keys.

Each stainless Pakistan knife in this horn series varies slightly in shade, so no two gifts look identical.

Questions & answers

Questions about the black horn rustic keychain

How much does this horn keychain cost?

US$1.48 per piece (PKR 914 for buyers in Pakistan). From 50 pieces the price drops to US$1.04 per piece. For a larger order, send us the quantity on WhatsApp or by email and we will quote a lower rate.

Will the horn crack?

Natural horn is tough, but it dislikes extremes. Keep it out of hot cars, away from radiators and out of standing water, and it will stay sound for many years.

Care & maintenance

Looking after keratin: horn in daily use

Horn is made of keratin, the same protein as fingernails, so it behaves like the natural material it is. It rewards a little attention:

  • Keep it away from radiators, dashboards and direct sun; dry heat can make horn brittle.
  • Never leave it soaking, as horn takes up water and can swell or lift at the pins.
  • Rub in a little beeswax or mineral oil every few months to keep the surface supple and glossy.
  • Buff it with a soft cloth to bring back the shine after a few weeks in a pocket.

Without a bolster, the 5.8 cm horn handle carries the whole look, so these few minutes are well spent.
