Know-how from our Sialkot workshop

Pro tip

Feed the olive wood each spring and autumn

Olive wood is dense and naturally oily, which is why its swirling grain looks so lively, but it still dries out in heated rooms. Twice a year, rub a few drops of food-safe mineral oil into the handle of this Pakistani dagger, leave it for ten minutes, then buff off the excess with a clean cloth. The figure deepens, and the joint at the inox bolster stays tight.

How to use

Carving feather sticks for a campfire

Feather sticks, thin curls shaved from dry wood, catch a flame far more easily than a whole stick, and a long, straight blade makes them quickly:

  1. Choose a dry, straight piece of softwood about as thick as your wrist and remove any damp bark.
  2. Brace one end on a log, angled away from your body and legs.
  3. Lay the edge at a low angle to the wood and push it down the stick in long, even strokes, stopping each curl before it breaks off.
  4. Work round the stick until a dozen curls bunch at the bottom, then light them from underneath.
  5. Wipe the blade, dry the olive wood handle and return the knife to its case.

For a stainless Pakistan dagger with an 18 cm blade, it is the camp skill most worth practising.

Questions & answers

Olive wood dagger: price and practical questions

What is the price of this dagger knife in Pakistan?

The figure at the top of this page is for a single knife and appears in rupees (PKR) for visitors in Pakistan, who can also order through WhatsApp. Ordering for a shop? Quantity brings the unit rate down, so email us how many you need and we will send a quote.

How is it different from the acacia version?

The 18 cm stainless blade, 12 cm handle and 30 cm length are the same. This one pairs olive wood, paler with a swirling grain, with a silver-toned inox bolster; the acacia version has a brass bolster and a warmer, darker handle. Choose by the look your customers prefer.

Can our logo go on the blade?

Yes, for wholesale orders: private label is available on request. Send the artwork and quantity, and we will confirm how each Pakistan knife in the order can be marked.
