Questions & answers

Mushroom knives, rescue folders and belts

Which knives is this sheath made for?

It is the listed sheath for our teak and glossy black mushroom knives with cleaning brush, the teak folder with hooked butt, and the rescue folding knives with glass breaker and belt cutter, including the firefighter motif models. All are sold separately from the sheath.

Why a riveted bar rather than a stitched loop?

Rivets anchor the bar at the points where a belt pulls hardest, so it resists tearing when the sheath is pulled on and off or catches on a branch. That suits knives worn outdoors.

Can I order it together with the knives?

Yes. Many shops add one sheath per knife so the pair can be sold together. Send us the mix of models on WhatsApp or by email for a single quote.

Care & maintenance

Rain, mud and sap on a belt sheath

A sheath worn on the belt meets rain, mud and sap that a pocket sheath never sees. Keep this 13 cm split leather sheath working with a few habits:

  • After a muddy outing, let the mud dry, brush it off, then wipe with a damp cloth.
  • Lift sap or resin from the leather with a cloth barely moistened with soapy water, never with solvent.
  • Check the rivets on the belt bar each season; a loose one should be dealt with before the leather tears.
  • Dry the knife fully before sheathing it, especially after cutting wet mushrooms.

Shops buying Pakistan knives wholesale for foragers and rescue crews can pass these tips on at the till.

Did you know?

Rivets moved from work trousers to sheaths

Metal rivets became famous in 1873, when tailor Jacob Davis and his cloth supplier Levi Strauss patented riveted work trousers for labourers whose pockets kept tearing. Reinforcing a stress point with a rivet soon spread to belts, bags and harness, and the same reasoning is behind the riveted belt-loop bar on this sheath for Pakistani knives.

How to use

Wearing a 13 cm sheath on the belt

A belt sheath only works if it sits where your hand expects it. To set it up:

  1. Unbuckle your belt and slide it through the riveted bar on the back of the sheath.
  2. Rethread the belt so the sheath sits just behind your hip, clear of your trouser pocket.
  3. Fold the knife fully and lower it into the 13 cm pouch.
  4. Press the snap closed and tug the knife gently to check it is held.
  5. Practise opening the snap with the hand on that side until it becomes automatic.

It is a comfortable way to carry the larger folding knives made in Pakistan in our range, from mushroom knives to rescue folders.
