Sharpening

Ceramic rod and a bright lamp: sharpening by sight

  1. Hold the 9 cm blade edge-up under a bright lamp: dull spots catch the light as tiny glints, while sharp sections stay invisible.
  2. Stand a ceramic rod upright on a folded towel, tip down, and hold the blade at about 20 degrees to the rod.
  3. Draw the edge down and towards you, heel to tip, in one smooth stroke; alternate sides, five strokes each, then three, then one.
  4. Repeat the light test. When the glints are gone, the edge is keen again.

Ten minutes with a rod every couple of months keeps this stainless Pakistan pocket knife ready for webbing, cord and tape, and the coyote-and-gold handle never comes near an abrasive.

Did you know?

Nils Bohlin's belt and its open patent

The three-point seatbelt that a belt cutter is designed to slice was developed by the Swedish engineer Nils Bohlin and introduced in 1959. His employer made the patent freely available to other carmakers, and the design is credited with saving a great many lives. The hook at the butt of this Pakistan knife exists because that belt became universal.

Questions & answers

Coyote tan rescue folder: what buyers ask

What makes a good knife for a firefighter?

One that is there when it is needed. A folder of about 164 g that rides in a pocket or a belt sheath, with its own belt cutter and glass breaker, is more useful than a bigger tool left behind in the truck. Coyote tan blends with workwear and outdoor kit, while the gold accents make it easy to spot in a bag.

What is the price of this folding knife for buyers in Pakistan?

Pakistani visitors see the price in rupees (PKR) at the top of the page, for a single knife. Outdoor and hunting shops ordering more get a lower rate per piece; a short WhatsApp or email with your quantity is all we need to quote.

How does it differ from the grey-and-gold model?

Only in colour. Both have a 12.5 cm two-tone aluminium handle, a 9 cm black-coated blade with assisted opening and the same rescue tools. Coyote leans towards outdoor shops and grey towards gift counters, so stocking both lets customers choose.
