Care & maintenance

Easy care for a set with nothing to oil

With blades and curved handles both in steel, this is one of the most forgiving sets in the table range, and a knife set from Pakistan does not get much simpler to look after:

  • Wash in hot soapy water after the meal and dry with a cloth; there is no handle material to swell, crack or fade.
  • Wipe off salt, lemon juice and vinegar promptly, since acids can mark any stainless steel if left to dry.
  • For water spots, a soft cloth dampened with white vinegar, followed by rinsing and drying, restores the shine.
  • Avoid scouring pads, which leave fine scratches on the polished handles.
  • Keep the knives in the wooden case between uses.
Sharpening

No steel in the case? A ceramic rod does the job

This set comes without a sharpening steel, so you choose the tool:

  1. A fine ceramic rod is the best companion for 420 table blades: it aligns the edge and removes a tiny amount of metal at the same time.
  2. Hold the rod upright and draw each 11.5 cm blade down it at about 20 degrees, alternating sides, five strokes each.
  3. Test the edge on a sheet of paper held in the air: a keen blade slices cleanly, while a dull one folds or tears it.
  4. Avoid cheap pull-through gadgets with coarse carbide notches, which take off far more metal than a table knife needs.

Every stainless steel Pakistan knife in the set holds its edge better with a monthly touch-up than with a yearly heavy grind.

Gift ideas

For people who are hard on cutlery

The curved all-steel handles give this set a modern, sculpted line, and its toughness decides who it suits:

  • Families with young children, where cutlery is dropped, scraped and washed several times a day.
  • Someone moving into student or shared housing, who needs a set that survives careless washing-up.
  • Outdoor kitchens, garden rooms and holiday homes, where wood would weather.
  • A cook who prefers clean, contemporary lines on the table.

Among Pakistani knives for the table, it is the set to choose when ease matters more than ornament.

Questions & answers

Sculpted steel handles: quick questions

Are Pakistan knives any good?

Yes, provided you buy from a maker who states the materials, as we do: 420 stainless steel blades, all-steel curved handles, a wooden case. The test of a set like this is the finish where blade meets handle, which should be smooth, without sharp edges or polishing marks. Ours are made in Sialkot, a city whose steelwork has been exported for generations.

How much does this knife set cost in Pakistan?

The price at the top of the page is per case of six, shown in rupees (PKR) for visitors in Pakistan. Volume orders bring the rate per set down; send us your quantity by WhatsApp or email for a wholesale quote.

How does it differ from the other all-steel set?

This version has curved handles and comes without a sharpening steel. The other all-steel set has an inox bolster and includes a steel in the case.
