Resting and finished positions for knife and fork
Table manners include a silent language, and an ivory-toned set makes it easy to read. At a formal meal:
- While eating, rest the knife and fork on the plate in an inverted V, tips towards the centre and handles pointing outwards, to show you have not finished.
- Keep the blade edge turned inwards, never towards your neighbour.
- When you have finished, lay both pieces side by side across the plate, handles towards your lower right, fork tines up beside the knife.
- Hosts and waiting staff then know they can clear the plate without asking.
Each Pakistan stainless steel knife in this set has a 12 cm bone handle whose warm ivory tone stands out clearly against white plates.
