About this knife

This knife sheath is made from tan cowhide leather with a tapered, contoured profile and a snap-button closure, sized at 18 cm to fit larger fixed-blade knives. Manufactured in Pakistan, its natural tan tone offers a lighter alternative to the black leather version in the same size. Know-how from our Sialkot workshop

Made in Sialkot

Long, tapered and left in natural tan

Cowhide suits long sheaths: it is thick and strong enough to hold its shape over 18 cm, yet supple enough to follow a tapered outline. Left in a natural tan, it also shows the character of the hide, so slight differences in tone from one sheath to the next are normal rather than faults.

This contoured sheath closes with a snap button and is the tan twin of our black 18 cm model. As Pakistan knife makers, we offer the two side by side because a fixed blade with a warm wooden handle often looks better against natural leather.

Display & retail

Side by side: black and tan for fixed blades

Two colours of the same sheath sell better together than apart. Hang the tan and black 18 cm sheaths next to each other above your fixed blades, each holding a knife, and let customers choose by eye.

Place the pair with outdoor gear rather than kitchen knives, since hunting, camping and fishing customers are the buyers. In autumn, as the hunting season opens, move them to the front. A card explaining that the tan will darken with use answers the most common question before it is asked, and helps sell Pakistan knives with wooden handles as a matched set.

Questions & answers

Ageing leather and hunting colours

Will the tan colour stay as it is?

No, and that is part of its appeal. Natural tan cowhide darkens gradually with light, handling and conditioning, ending up a richer brown. If you want a uniform look from day one, choose the black version of this sheath.

Why choose tan over black for a hunting knife?

Tan sits naturally with outdoor clothing and shows dust and dried mud less than black does, while black hides oil stains better. Many hunters simply choose the one that matches their belt and boots.

Pro tip

Rotate tan stock away from the window

Natural tan leather darkens in sunlight, and a sheath hanging in a shop window for a month will be noticeably deeper on one face. Turn the display piece weekly, keep backup stock in its carton, and sell the oldest first. Customers comparing Pakistan knives for sale expect matching sheaths, and an evenly toned tan always looks newest.
