About this knife

A black lion rampant on a bright yellow shield, the colours long associated with the arms of Flanders, is inlaid on the 11.7 cm black aluminium handle. It is part of a heraldic series of four crests.

The 8.5 cm black-coated stainless steel tanto blade deploys with the flipper tab and assisted opening. The ridged rear of the handle holds a seatbelt cutter and a glass-breaker point, so the knife doubles as an emergency tool in the glovebox.

The yellow crest makes it the brightest of the four on a display. 161 g, made in Pakistan, supplied wholesale. Compatible sheath ref. 2090, sold separately.

Questions & answers

Rescue use and cost of the black lion

What makes a good knife for a firefighter?

Quick access and dependable tools count as much as steel. A knife for rescue work should come out of a pocket or kit bag fast, open with one gloved hand, and offer a belt cutter and glass breaker without needing the blade. This black lion model meets that brief: a flipper tab with assisted opening, a ridged rear grip carrying both tools, and an 8.5 cm tanto blade.

What is the price of the black lion knife in Pakistan?

In Pakistan the price per knife is shown in rupees at the top of this page, and you can order it on WhatsApp. Stores taking all four crests, or larger numbers of one, get a lower rate per piece, quoted on request. Among the knives for sale in Pakistan on this site, the crests are sold singly, so you can mix them freely.

Pro tip

Brightest crest, easiest to find

Rescue tools are useless if you cannot find them. The yellow shield on this handle is the brightest of the four crests, and that helps: in a dark glovebox or a cluttered kit bag, a flash of yellow catches the eye faster than plain black. Store it crest side up. Among other firefighter rescue knives in a shared kit, it is also easy to identify as yours.

How to use

Packing a glovebox emergency kit

This knife doubles as an emergency tool in the car, but only as part of a well-planned kit:

  1. Keep the knife itself within reach of the driver, in a door pocket or console, rather than shut in the glovebox.
  2. In the glovebox, add a torch, a high-visibility vest, a small first-aid kit and a card with emergency numbers.
  3. Once a season, check that the flipper tab still opens the blade smoothly and that the glass-breaker point is clean.
  4. Show every regular driver where the knife is and how the seatbelt cutter works.

At 161 g, it is light enough that a second one in the family's other car is no burden.

Display & retail

Heraldic crests as a four-knife display

The black lion belongs to a series of four heraldic crests, and the set sells best displayed together, like shields along a hall wall:

  • Arrange the four in a row on an angled stand: black lion, red lion, fleur-de-lis, double-headed eagle.
  • Put the black lion at one end; its yellow shield is the brightest and draws people to the row.
  • Add a card noting that black on gold has long been linked with the arms of Flanders, a detail that interests history fans and visitors with Belgian roots.
  • Stock the Padded Black Leather Sheath, ref. 2090, next to the crests, since it fits all four.

Collectors who buy Pakistan pocket knives by theme can complete the row in one purchase.
