Questions & answers

Small sheath, common questions

Which knives fit an 8 cm sheath?

Close your knife and measure it from end to end. If it comes in comfortably under 8 cm, leaving room for the flap to close, this sheath will take it. That covers the smallest folders and little fixed blades; a longer knife will strain the snap and needs the next size up.

Is a knife included?

No, the listing is for the sheath alone, sold as a spare or a replacement. Retailers often add a few to an order of small folders, so a customer buying a little pocket knife can leave with somewhere safe to keep it.

Can the sheath carry our shop name?

Private label is available on request. Send us the quantity and your logo, and we will confirm what can be marked on a sheath this compact, where the flap leaves only a small area to work with.

Made in Sialkot

Cutting and closing a pocket-sized pouch

Sialkot built its name on cutlery and surgical steel, but leather has long been worked in the same city, and the two trades meet in the humble knife sheath. For knife manufacturers in Pakistan, that means skilled leather workers are rarely far away.

A small sheath like this one usually starts as a pattern cut from black split leather with a steel press knife, so every piece in a batch has the same outline. The pouch is folded and closed, and the press stud is set in two halves, one on the flap and one on the body. At 8 cm there is little margin: set the stud a few millimetres off, and the flap no longer closes cleanly over the knife.

Did you know?

The press stud began on trousers

The snap fastener that closes this sheath was first patented in 1885 by Heribert Bauer, a German inventor, as a spring closure for men's trousers. Two pressed metal halves that click together proved ideal for anything opened often with one hand, and today the same humble stud keeps countless Pakistani knives in their pouches.

Quality check

Five checks for a tiny sheath

Small accessories are easy to wave through on delivery, yet customers notice their faults first. Open a few from each carton and check:

  • The press stud closes with a clear click and does not pop open when the sheath is squeezed.
  • Both halves of the stud sit straight, with no sharp edge inside the flap.
  • The black colour is even, without pale patches where the split leather has been rubbed.
  • Edges and seams are tight, and the 8 cm pouch keeps its shape when empty.
  • A small folder slides in and out without catching.

The same routine suits the sheaths of most Pakistan knives you stock.
