About this knife

A grinning beaver, all brown fur and gold outline, is inlaid in rubber on the 12 cm black metal handle of this pocket knife. Fitting for the animal known for working wood: the knife is a handy companion for camping, whittling a tent peg or cutting cord at the campsite.

The 11 cm satin stainless steel drop-point blade opens with a flick of the flipper tab, helped by the assisted opening, and the raised-dot grip stays secure in the hand. 142 g in total.

The beaver completes the six-mascot series. Made in Pakistan and supplied wholesale.

Camping season and the beaver knife

The beaver is a camping knife at heart, so show it where summer and family outdoor gear live, not in the locked cabinet:

  • Place it beside tents, camp stoves and whittling books; a tent peg carved with it makes a strong prop.
  • Keep one open on a small stand so customers see the 11 cm satin drop point and the flipper tab.
  • Group it with the fox and the wild boar for a woodland theme, or show all six mascots for collectors.
  • Before the school holidays, add a card suggesting it as a first proper EDC knife for an adult who camps with the family.

Beavers have self-sharpening teeth

A beaver's front teeth sharpen themselves. The orange front layer of each incisor is enamel hardened with iron, while the softer dentine behind it wears away faster as the animal gnaws, so the tooth keeps a chisel edge. The teeth also never stop growing. Knife steel cannot do the same, which is why even a stainless Pakistan pocket knife needs a stone now and then.

Questions & answers

Your beaver questions answered

Does the lock mechanism feel secure?

Put it through a quick hands-on check. The flipper tab should take the blade out to a firm, definite stop. With the raised-dot handle in a firm grip and fingers away from the edge, nudge the blade gently in every direction; it should not move. Closing ought to take a deliberate action rather than a shake. If your sample behaves otherwise, contact us.

How much does the beaver knife cost in Pakistan?

The cost of one knife appears at the top of the page, in rupees (PKR) for visitors from Pakistan, and orders can be placed on WhatsApp. Camping and outdoor retailers ordering the beaver, or the whole mascot set, receive a lower rate per piece on request.

The story

Fur hats, a national emblem and a camp knife

For more than two centuries, the beaver shaped North American history. Its dense underfur made the best felt for fashionable hats in Europe, and that demand drove a fur trade that pushed trappers and trading companies deep into the continent from the 1600s onwards. The animal became so tied to that story that Canada made it an official national symbol in 1975.

Today the beaver stands for patient, skilled work with wood, a fitting mascot for a knife that whittles tent pegs and cuts cord at the campsite. On this Pakistan knife it grins from the 12 cm black handle, brown fur and gold outline against a raised-dot grip, the final animal of the six-mascot series.
