Care & maintenance

Clean habits for a pale handle

Light wood shows everything: grease, ink, soil and the grey film that metal leaves on fingers. A few habits keep this Pakistan pocket knife looking fresh:

  • Wash your hands before handling it if you have been working with oil, ink or newsprint.
  • Lift marks with a slightly damp cloth and a drop of mild soap, then dry the wood at once.
  • Protect the handle with a clear, colourless wax rather than an oil that could darken the straw tone.
  • Dry the 8 cm blade before folding it, and wipe the inox bolster to keep it bright.
Questions & answers

Light-handled folder: common questions

What is the price of this pale straw folding knife for buyers in Pakistan?

It is displayed per piece at the top of this page, in rupees for visitors in Pakistan. Shops that want the pale straw model as the neutral anchor of a colour assortment can order in quantity at a lower rate; send us a message on WhatsApp or by email for the wholesale price. Wholesale rates are sent on request rather than listed here.

How good is the quality of a Pakistan knife like this one?

Look at three things: the steel, the fit and the finish. The 8 cm blade is stainless steel, so it resists rust in a pocket; the polished inox bolster should meet the pale wood without a gap; and the dyed handle should be evenly coloured from end to end. When all three are right, you have a sound everyday knife that, kept honed, will serve for years.

Is there a sheath for the 10 cm handle?

Yes: our universal black leather sheath, ref. 2060, is sized for it. It is sold separately, and the black leather makes a smart contrast with the pale wood when the knife is given as a present.

Quality check

Pale handles hide nothing on inspection

A light handle is honest: dirt, glue marks and uneven colour cannot hide on it, which makes the checks quick:

  • No glue residue or dark lines where the wood meets the inox bolster.
  • An even straw colour along the 10 cm handle, without blotches.
  • A blade that opens fully, stays put and folds back centred.
  • A clean, burr-free edge along the 8 cm blade.
  • No grey fingermarks from packing; a dry cloth removes them.

The same list works for every Pakistan stainless steel knife with a light handle in your range.

Did you know?

Penknives were named for quill pens

The word penknife goes back to the days of quill pens. Writers used a small, sharp blade to cut a goose feather into a nib and to trim it again as it wore down, and the name stuck long after steel nibs replaced quills. A slim 8 cm blade like this one is a direct descendant among today's Pakistan knives, used for parcels and fruit instead of feathers.
