Looking after teak and a matte black blade
Two materials set the routine: teak, which likes a little oil, and a black coating that wants cleaning, not scouring. Treat this tactical knife from Pakistan the way you would a good garden tool:
- Wipe the 8.7 cm blade with a damp cloth and dry it at once; abrasive pads and metal polish dull the matte coating.
- Every couple of months, rub a few drops of teak or food-safe oil into the sculpted handle. Teak is naturally oily, but sun and frequent washing dry it out.
- Brush lint and grit out of the pivot area and the finger choil, then add one drop of light oil at the pivot.
- Never leave it soaking: standing water swells wood fibres and loosens the fit around the blade.
