Where a studded lion folder comes from
Sialkot, in Pakistan's Punjab, built its name on precise metalwork: surgical instruments, sports goods and cutlery leave the city for markets around the world. A folder like this draws on those skills. Typically the stainless blade is ground and edged, the 12 cm metal handle is given its raised studs, and the rubber lion medallion is fitted into the side before the assisted-opening action is assembled and adjusted.
The studs are there for the hand as much as the eye: they give the fingers points of contact, so the grip stays sure even when palms are damp. A textured metal frame with a moulded inlay is what sets a modern tactical knife from Pakistan apart from the wood-handled folders the city has made for generations.
