About this knife

An orange-and-white fox head, inlaid in rubber, sits in the middle of a 12 cm black metal handle covered in raised dots. Those dots are the point: they keep a sure hold with wet or gloved hands.

A flipper tab under the pivot swings the 11 cm satin stainless steel drop-point blade open in one movement, thanks to the assisted opening. At 142 g it rides easily in a jacket or trouser pocket.

The fox is one of six mascots in this series. Retailers often take the full set for a themed counter display, and it sells just as well on its own as an everyday pocket knife made in Pakistan.

Display & retail

Building a six-mascot counter around the fox

The fox is one of the brightest of the six mascots, so give it the spot where the eye lands first, at the front of an angled stand, with the rhino, bull, rooster, wild boar and beaver lined up beside it.

  • Choose a dark stand: orange on black reads from across the shop.
  • Leave one knife open to show the satin drop-point blade and the flipper tab.
  • Keep the shelf card short: 11 cm blade, 12 cm handle, assisted opening, 142 g.
  • Price each knife singly and offer a set price for all six, which collectors often ask about.

In outdoor and gift shops it sells as a tactical knife with personality rather than one more plain black folder.

Sharpening

Honing a satin drop point back to sharp

  1. Work on a medium whetstone, around 1000 grit, holding the blade at roughly 20 degrees, a sound angle for an everyday folder.
  2. Sweep from heel to tip, lifting the handle slightly as you reach the curve of the drop point so the angle stays constant.
  3. Raise a fine burr along the full 11 cm edge, then repeat on the other side with the same number of strokes.
  4. Refine on a finer stone and finish with a few light passes on a leather strop.
  5. Wipe metal dust away from the flipper tab and pivot, then add a drop of oil.

A stainless pocket knife made in Pakistan like this one takes and holds a working edge with this simple routine.

Questions & answers

Fox knife: lock, price and ordering

Does the lock mechanism feel secure?

Judge it in the first minute out of the box. Open the blade with the flipper tab: it should reach full extension with a firm, clean stop. Holding the handle, apply gentle sideways and up-and-down pressure to the blade, keeping fingers off the edge; there should be no movement. Closing should call for a conscious action. If anything feels loose, tell us before the knife goes on display.

What is the price of the fox knife in Pakistan?

Like all Pakistan knives for sale on this site, it carries a unit price at the top of the page, in rupees for visitors in Pakistan, who can also order by WhatsApp. Taking the six mascots together, or larger quantities, lowers the price per knife: ask us for a quote.

Pro tip

Orange shows up in the grass

A dropped black knife can vanish in grass or leaf litter within seconds. The orange fox on this handle is a small advantage there: when you set the knife down at a picnic or campsite, lay it mascot side up and it is far easier to spot. Better still, close it and pocket it the moment the cut is done.
