Sharpening

Weekly touch-ups for an everyday folder

A knife you use daily dulls a little every day, so small, regular sessions beat a big rescue job.

  1. Once a week, give the 9 cm edge five or six alternating strokes on a fine ceramic rod.
  2. Once a month, or when the blade starts sliding off a tomato skin, sharpen properly on a whetstone at around 20 degrees.
  3. Raise a burr along the whole edge, then remove it with lighter strokes on a fine grit.
  4. Strop on leather or plain cardboard to finish.

Treated this way, a Pakistan pocket knife with a stainless blade stays ready for whatever an ordinary day throws at it.

Questions & answers

Everyday acacia folder: before you buy

Does the lock mechanism feel secure?

Here is how to judge it. Open the blade until it stops, then hold the acacia handle firmly and press on the spine; the blade should not budge. Try to rock the tip sideways too. Closing should take a conscious push from you, never a light nudge. Repeat the check from time to time, since pocket lint can collect in the joint.

What does this folding knife cost in Pakistan?

Visitors in Pakistan see its price in rupees (PKR) at the top of the page and can buy through WhatsApp. That figure is per knife; retailers stocking an everyday-carry line can ask us on WhatsApp or by email for a quantity price, which falls as orders grow.

Who makes these knives?

We are Pakistan knife makers based in Sialkot, producing and selling factory-direct since 1982 to distributors, shops and importers worldwide. Private label is available on request if you want your own brand on the blade.

Care & maintenance

Looking after acacia and stainless together

Acacia is dense and the blade is stainless, so care is simple, but a few habits make a big difference over years of daily carry.

  • Wipe the blade after cutting fruit or anything acidic, which can leave marks if left to dry.
  • Never put the knife in a dishwasher: heat and detergent dry out the acacia and can loosen the handle.
  • Once a month, add one drop of light oil to the pivot and work the blade open and closed.
  • When the wood looks pale or dry, rub in a little food-safe oil, leave it ten minutes and buff off the excess.
  • Brush pocket lint out of the slot.
